85 berlinetta heating problem?

the lights on the heat/wiper/a/c pod start to flash when i turn on my heat.its the wierd stars war edition.how do i get to the heater relay switch and blower to check it out.does anyone else have this model that has had this problem before?also have problems with the blinker switch when wanting to turn left and the auto parts stores dont seem to have parts it stock or can even get them.so where would a good place to get parts at other than the dealer?this is a nice but very weird and difficult to find things for.

Re: 85 berlinetta heating problem?

There is no connection whatsoever in the factory wiring between the light in the AC control head, and the control head itself. The circuit goes almost all the way back to the battery before tehy share anything in common.

So if the one affects the other, somebody has probably been in there hacking on the wiring; and since I can't see it very well (it's kind of off to one corner of my monitor in ver dim light) at the moment, I can't offer any suggestions as to what to do; besides inspect it, find the hack, and un-hack it.

Sounds like you have Borneo orangutans behind the counter at whatever parts store this is. There is nothing the least bit unique about anything in the turn signal switch circuit in these cars. They're EXACTLY the same as any other GM car. The GM TSS has been the same since the mid 60s, when they introduced hazard flashers. There are 2 parts in the circuit; the switch, which is a big white plastic thing you can find hanging in the "Help!" aisle; and the flasher, which you can find hanging on a card in the Electrical aisle.

But both of those things affect both directions of TS equally. In other words, if one of those was bad, both right and left would be fornicated. If they're not, then those parts aren't bad. More likely, you have a bad bulb, or one installed improperly.

Re: 85 berlinetta heating problem?

That does look a little different to 1960 technology, probably the dealer would be a place to start, but likely they don't stock it anymore. Perhaps you could remove the switch and clean the contacts? I don't know about the star wars car, but on my reg. camaro, the blower relay is on the firewall under the hood.

Re: 85 berlinetta heating problem?

Yes those look fairly familiar.

Don't think it matters too much though, especially not in regards to the turn signals....

Re: 85 berlinetta heating problem?

yeah but when i try to turn on the left signal i can tap and tap and tpa but the light will never come on.right turn signal works great always comes on with just a little tap.and none of the auto parts stores around my house dont seem to be able to get the blinker switch since it isnt on the colum.as for heater panel i going to open it up and take a good look at things.
