fuel type overheat question?
anyone ever have any problem with the car running hot/overheating only because you switched fuel? i've always ran premium octane from bp. recently we tried some 100 low lead aircraft fuel from the local air port. Going down the highway it was runnin maybe a 10-20 degrees warmer, but in town it overheaded quickly. Ran that tank dry and filled it up with premium, didn't have any problem since

100 LL should not be run through a car unless you're running no cats. If you have cats, the lead will take them out. It shouldn't really run hotter. Perhaps a radiator flush would fix the problem. I know on older non ecu cars the timing should be advanced if you want to use 100LL to stop pinging. Newer ones should self adjust the timing, but eventually you can say bye-bye to the cats.
I believe 100LL is hard on the motor, but an occasional tank will not hurt.
100LL means "low lead" comparing to old leaded gas. Jet fuel is more like a kerosene mixture. AVgas is still gas.

Re: fuel type overheat question?
yea i removed the cat a while back. it was fall'n apart internally blockin off exhaust and wouldn't run worth a damn over 3000 rpm. which sucked with a high stall convertor! anyways...i was just tryin the low lead fuel since it was hell of alot cheaper than cam 2 race gas. VP fuel we got here is like 6-8 bucks a gallon pending octane rating
