im replaceing my heater core and i got every thing taken apart i just cant get the heater hoses in the engine conpartment off . eny tips or eny thing i should know that would help?

 

spray with pb blaster or wd40 and possibly use a hose tool if you can get one. it looks like this.

I just found my heater core leaking... how difficult is it to replace?

i didnt use a razor or knife i just did what jstoltz said with the wd40 and that tool and it worked very good

 

glad to help. most of the time the right tool will definitely work better than the cheaper way.

 

I was just about to create a new topic about this.. Anyway, I have my dash all ripped out ready to do this. Is there any thing I should know before I take apart the heater-box? Is there a filter in the heater-box?

 

Hi the names Caine. Im in need of some help and you seem like you give good advice. I have a 85 tpi transam and just dropped a 87firebird crate 350 in her. She runs good unless i run street for more than 10min then she get up to 220-235 degrees.I have a new stock radiator,185degree thermostat, not loosin coolant, and i just got the system flushed.Do you think the water pumps to blame? Also which stock 305 parts do you recomend me changing to upgrade and benefit the performance of my 350. I heard i need to change the 305 injectors to 350 injectors. Is this true. Any help is highly appreciate. Thanks

Ok, I found where most of the Antifreeze smell is coming from. The heater core was leaking, and the air was pushing the hot antifreeze in to some of the insulation inside the heat ducting. So looks like I get to rip that out, too.
