coolent resevoir???
just curious,
my car is parked for the winter so it doesnt run for more than 30mins in the garage just to keep the engine fresh.
i notice my coolent resevoir level doesnt rise. within those 30mins the car reaches normal temp and the coolent level stays at the cold level in the resevoir.
should i be worried, and what could be the cause?
or without the car actually being drivin and teh engine isn't being pushed into high temps and high coolent pressure its not uncommon that the coolent resevoir wouldnt get extra coolent to the high level if the car just sits for a half hour?
i wont be able to actually drive it till spring so it makes real hard to diagnose.
i probable dont have a problem it just seems odd to me plus i put too much money into this car for it to go because of a stupid cooling problem
and there is a yr old radiator in it, yr old thermastate and about 6month old brand new water pump.
car gets great heat inside the car when i turn the heat on. and the engine temp is between the 200-220 range
so it is being cooled but jsut the stupid resevoir thing has me concerned.

I don't have any experience with that, and people usually wouldn't notice or worry. I wouldn't worry either unless the level goes down, and the dipstick or the oil cap gets a grey/ brownish foam buildup. Do you have a radiator cap with a pressure release lever on? If so try to flip that up and see if the level changes.
How often do you start up the car? I'm personally slightly against running engines for short periods during winter storage as the oil doesn't get hot enough to vaporize accumulated moisture from the blowby gases condensating in the crankcase, plus the battery doesn't get wery well charged either.
I'd prefer to exchange the oil before the last drive to storage, and press the pedal down a split second before turning it off, in order to expel all exhaust gases (& its moisture) from the chambers. Some people even spray layup oil into the cylinders. Then I'd attach an automatic trickle charger to the battery, or use an ordinary charger every other month, and not start it until it's time to take it out.
If you have A/C then it's another matter, as it easily loses charge unless it's run for a few minutes every month or so.

Re: coolent resevoir???
as long as its cooling fine i wouldnt worry bout it. personally i am also against the short runs during storage since short runs are hard on engines. if i get the opportunity i prefer to shut the engine of at a rev to blow it out, put a trickle charger on the battery to increase the life, and keep the gas tank full to prevent any rusting, weather you use fuel stabalizers is up to you i never have and never had any trouble although i use fuel system cleaner on the first fresh tank of the spring, i also prefer to store it with the old fluids such as oil during the winter then change it on the first drive of the spring but then again thats just me
