Shroud Bolts

Well, I've known this for a while, but I seem to be missing a bolt on my fan shroud (single, stock, electric). It doesn't cause any noise, really, but I'd rather have it completely attached so it doesn't decide to cause noise.

What type of bolt is needed, if it's a special kind, where should I be able to find it?

Thanks.

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Re: Shroud Bolts

Hanging in the "hardware" carousel at AutoZone, PepBoys, Advance, CSk, etc.

The same type as the one in the corresponding spot on the other side of the car. Take that one out, take it to the store with you, and match it.

Pay attention to the hole; you may find that the reason there's no bolt there, is because there's also no Tinnerman clip in the hole. They have those hanging on that carousel, too; just get the size that matches the bolt.

Re: Shroud Bolts

probably the same ones as the ones on the top of the rad support for the manual fan shrouds as well

if so then i have millions of them from past part outs

and clips too

a pic, length, and diameter and i could scratch some up

if you have no other luck

good luck

Re: Shroud Bolts

If you have the clip it screws into you can take the bolt to a hardware store and get another single bolt too.
Just to hold the shroud on it won't have to be a highstrength bolt.
