Radiator for 400sbc

I was wondering if you guys have any opinions as to what kind of radiator (how many rows) I should use with my 400, I was looking at http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku if that radiator will fit would that be sufficient?
Thanks,
Codey

Re: Radiator for 400sbc

The description on that radiator has misinformation. I sell Proliance as well as about 6 other brands and the "3 row" thing is inaccurate. (FACT)...The confusion came in when copper/brass aftermarket radiators began to become so expensive to build that they went back to making the aftermarket out of aluminum and plastic because the cost to produce aluminum and plastic(actually nylon) is now so much cheaper than brass and copper. The original aftermarket replacement radiators were by and large copper/brass because that's what aftermarket companies were geared up to produce. Most companies were producing a copper/brass 3 row of 3/8" tubes to replace an OEM aluminum and plastic radiator that was 1 1/8". Now that these companies are reverting back to aluminum and plastic for aftermarket, alot of their catalog information is only haphazardly getting updated. This ad you specified is a victim of that change over. I have these units on the shelf for about $109.00 but I can assure you, this is an information error on the "3 row" thing. If I was running a sbc 400 with the siamese bore block (which is a bad to the bone engine in my opinion) that has some cooling issues, I would run a 2 row (1" tube) radiator. I am getting some interest in these and should be able to supply them form $275 if enough people get on board but can get you one now for $286. Email me at topradman@yahoo.com if you are interested. Can also make a custom 2 pass which requires a different t stat housing to face the other direction but will cool alot better than the regular configuration if you are interested. Half to run a remote trans cooler though if you want a multi pass radiator built. Let me know if your interested. Scott
