fan toggle/rocker switch question

I'm getting ready to do the "Total Fan Control" set up. Autozone has a nice assortment of switches, some of which have an led. My question is, will this type of switch work or does it have to be the one with out the led? I did notice the the led one has a ground wire attachment also. My guess is that you cannot use the ones with the led?

Re: fan toggle/rocker switch question

Without the wiring diagram I can't tell if there'd be any peculiar effects from using a lighted switch, but I seriously doubt it. You can use a LED-switch almost anywhere an SPST hot-side switch is specified. If an SPDT switch is required then a LED switch cannot be used. The ground on the switch is simply there for the LED to work. It carries only like 0.01A. You cannot use a LED switch if the switch is supposed to ground something, like the original fan relay for instance. It'll work but depending on how you hook it up it won't light at all or else light when not activated.
