splash pan destroyed, now more air flow?

I hit a raccoon on the way home from work.It ripped out the splash guard and bent my air dam. While i was crawling arond looking for more damage and coon parts, I noticed that the radiator is now more exposed since the plastic is gone.

iwas wondering if anybody else has intentionaly pulled this piece out for greater airflow.

My car is lowered in the front, so i dont think rocks or anything like would really kick up there.

Its the other factors that i know nothing about, like aerodynamics or air pressure building under the hood, because its not flowing correctly.

I have driven it since, but i was more intent on listenig or feeling for anything, instead of watching the temp guage.

i figured id ask.

Re: splash pan destroyed, now more air flow?

your talking about the piece that goes between the radiator and the front bumper?? If so i dont have one on my car. It runs just fine. But i would be carefull about water. Thats one of the reasons they put that in there.. It also directs air up. But without it there is no difference. I have three of those pieces laying around.. If you need one let me know.
