LS1 Fans Rad Mount Modifications
Does anyone have any pictures or even a good description of what they needed to cut to get their upper radiator mount (third gen) to fit the LS1 fans? I've been cutting, test fitting, cutting, test fitting, and I don't think mine will ever fit right. If I could get a picture, or something, even a photoshop, it'd be immensely helpful. The car has been down for a few days for a serpentine swap, and I need to move out in four days from this complex. Doing it without a running car is gonna be very hard.
And no, much to my current dismay, I did a Cortez, and burned my ships to commit myself. I broke off the bolts from the lower fan mounts because I couldn't undo them with the wonderbar and the sway bar in the way. Whoops.
Any help on this is much appreciated!

I had a '02 LS1 fan setup from my parts car and looked at them compared with the dual TPI fans, and decided after a day to go with the TPI fans. You'd have to do a large amount of modification/shroud work to get the LS1 fans to mount right.

If you haven't done too much modification/cutting to the LS1 fans, you can sell them off and get a fan for a Ford Taurus. I'm not sure how hard it is to get the LS1 fans in, so if it will require extensive modification you can do this. These things flow ridiculously high. It has been keeping my Iroc at 180* at idle/cruise/wot, everything. Pretty cheap on ebay too and they will mount in with a very small amount of cutting to the fan and one screw.
Search for threads for it, it is a very popular cooling mod.

You just have to cut it a lot. A lot. To the point it looks waaay too thin. But after all of the cutting, it holds nice and tight. Looks clean and factory too. That, and I don't like putting Ford parts in my car. :P
Either way, they push a LOT of air. Now I just need to swap my thermostat.
