I'll take a leak somewhere anyday over a blown head gasket!!!!

well good luck lol. but the only problem with my leak is that it is leaking onto the exhaust creating unpleasent odors of buring coolent and oil. i just need to get a winter beater so i can start doing some real repairs to it.

Well, I finally checked my oil and it was real nice and black so I'm hoping it's not a head gasket problem. I ran into a little snag today installing the new air dam.

I don't see where the side pieces go. Looks like someone previous may have cut the part of the side skirts that attach to it.

Well, ever since I put the air dam on, it hasn't gone past 180 degrees at all. I will have to drive her a litter farther and a little longer to know for sure but so far so good.

Yeah you do. It's been a couple of months now and the car doesn't seem to get hotter then 190.

I found it hard to believe myself that a piece of plastic would be so efficient but the proof is in the pudding. Apparently it only affects the Trans Ams because of the fascia type. When I had a Firebird nose from the 82-90 era and from the 91-92 it never got hot without the air dam. However if you look at the fascia of either, it's a few inches higher then that of an 82-90 Trans Am.

I not only put the air dam but I found in a junkyard that plastic piece that goes between the fascia and the radiator that scoops air directly into the radiator and I must say, so far, so good. I'm sold on it.
