Heater Hose Routing With Aftermarket Intake

I have an edelbrock (I think) intake on my 350 TPI. I installed a new heater core today and went to install the heater hoses (which the previous owner left out) only to find that the coolant outlet that's supposed to point towards the passenger side of the car is not there. Instead, in its place, is an outlet that points to the front of the car. Anyone ever come across this? I'm looking for ideas on how best to route the heater hose.
