electric fan

I have an lg4 with mechanical fan. Made alot of upgrades, 3" exhaus, cam etc but want to swap to electric fans. Going aftermarket, double 12" should work. But I dont know where I can put a "sensor-thing" dont know the correct word.... Is there provisions for putting it in the intake or heads or something?
Actually would prefer to use one for each fan incase it malfunctions...
Would prefer using a setup from another firebird but they are hard to get in Sweden...

Re: electric fan

The stock fan uses a temp switch screwed into the pass side head. Same location as the temp guage sender on the drivers side, but between #6 and #8. Should be a plug installed there now with a square female socket. A stock or aftermarket (with lower on/off temps) switch can be installed there.

You can also install a switch on the water neck, if there's room, or into the manifold but you'll have to tap into a water jacket-manifold has to come off.

Another option is installing a temp switch on the radiator itself, some mount directly to the surface at the fins.
