87 Iroc-Z 5.7 TPI Overheating

ok so first off. I'm in Iraq. So i cannot physical look at the car. I'm going strickly off of what my wife said. Ok so, She bought this car for me. Got 5 mins down the road. Stopped to get gas, while she was pumping the gas. A lil bit of smoke/steam came out from under the hood. She turned the car off and noticed some watered down antifreeze under the car. The Temp. Was at 280. She let the car cool down added some more antifreeze. She also said it was making a hissing sound and Now the car wont start. I'm just trying to get some general ideas. For when i get home. It sounds like to me the waterpump is bad, possible the radiator needs changing, and the thermostat. But what would cause it to not start again once its cooled down.

Thank you
Mike

Heater control valve leaking coolant?? But first she will need to know where the leak is coming from and this can be done in the driveway.
