fan and radiator upgrades?

im planning on my camaro running about 300HP(at the crank) after im done with it. should i be concerened about upgrading my cooling system? mainly im talking about upgraded fans and radiator. i know be cool makes a kit that would be nice to have but i dont want to shell out 1300 if its not necessary. if i do need to upgrade, could i just do one or the other to save a little cash or would you just recommend getting the whole thing? i might want to make it more powerful later but im not sure.

Re: fan and radiator upgrades?

I'm running a vortec 350 with a mild cam AND AC and have no problems whatsoever with cooling with stock radiator and stock electric fan. The original radiator was a little crudded up but I replaced it with a stock replacement, about $100. I'd try it with stock.

If your motor's running a good tune you'll be fine. A motor running late timing, rich or lean can be a heat problem but tuning it to run efficiently is the correct fix.

Re: fan and radiator upgrades?

i am running 470 horse and still have the stock radiator and fans. I did upgrade the thermostat to 160 and used a electric high flow water pump. My car stays around the 190 mark and never gets above 200 even on the hottest days. So if I was you I would keep it all stock for cooling except for the thermostat and possibly water pump.
