V6 MAF Sensor Interchangeble with V8?

Have an 89 mass air flow sensor and air duct. Looks like it might be to a v6 because of how far back the air duct goes. Can I still use this MAF. Not the air duct just the MAF sensor.

Re: V6 MAF Sensor Interchangeble with V8?

it probably is the wrong one but look at the part number then call gm distributor and speak to parts. dont tell them you want to test a v6 for a v8 - just ask them the part number for a V8 and they will tell you. if its the same number you are ok. lots of parts are interchangeable.
if they give you a different number tell them a different dealership told you . . . and give them the number off the one you have and ask them to look it up and tell you what it is too.
then ask them to look to see if there is a difference.
and dont forget to google the numbers - it helps.
