hey everyone i just did the throttle body coolant hose bypass MOD. and here to offer a tip. i went to the auto parts store and got a molded heater hose from them that basicly bolted right in and i didnt have to modify anything!! The part number on the hose was GDY-63069, as for the brand of the hose i have no idea. but thought i would post anyways someone else might get lucky. not to sure if it makes a differance or not but decided to do it anyways. remember that if you drive in cold weather do not do this MOD as the throttle body will ice up and freeze and then it is a world of problems.
Yes this is the MOD posted in the articles section. my car has A/C so the new hose goes from the front of the lower intake to the heater bypass valve.

Thanks so much man. I'll call in that part number tomarrow. Premolded is the way to go!
Very nice. I'll go see what rock auto pulls up. thanks.
What auto parts store did you get it at?
it was a local parts store here. if you ask nice maybe they will let you go in the back where they have all the molded hoses hanging on the wall. thats how i found this one, but there is no way to cross reference from the part number to the vehicle it is supposed to fit. see if they can check company's like gates, goodyear, dayco, ect. the prefix GDY almost suggests goodyear? sorry i cant help more but thats all that was on the tag?? but if you do find one and it works the same let us all now for future.
It is a Goodyear Hose. I was able to find it online at Autozone. If you go to their website and do a search for 63069 it will pull up the hose. You can order it from there. That hose will work much better than the hose I've got now. Thanks iamiroc
thats awsome !!! now i know too if i need a replacement.

If yours is a Lt1 there's a little more involved in doing it compared to a tpi 3 gen car.Originally Posted by camaroz97

Touch your tb after a little drive...do the mod...drive it again then touch it again. Colder air is denser than hot air.Originally Posted by avilla20

sorry to bring up an old thread but just in case someone finds this and thinks it works- that hose doesn't fit a V-belt system, and it isn't actually big (wide) enough i dont think either. maybe it should be clarified that for it to possibly fit it will have to be trimmed on the bent part. if the op would have posted more pics it would have been helpful.
Here is a picture of the Goodyear GDY-63069 installed on my 87 Camaro with 88+ serpentine accessories. I cut 2" off the long end. It gets a little crowded with the PCV fresh air supply (steel tube end visible), and the vacuum line to the charcoal can (not in picture).

In case anybody else is looking for this hose, the Dayco cross reference part number is 303662.
Great write up. I just did this mod. Thanks!
I did this a long time ago. If you can't find the hose at a local parts store Amazon has it for $10.50

Thank you to all who researched this repair!! This part was hard to find in Denver, CO. I was able to cross it to Dayco 87662 from Carquest. Same part. My car is only a fair weather car so it makes sense especially with a S/C.

Amazon.com: Goodyear 63069 SAE 20R3 Molded By-Pass Heater Hose: Automotive
I bought the item above about a month ago. When it showed up, I figured I'd probably have to cut an inch or two off the end.....Nope. It fit absolutely perfectly. Exactly the right length. The curve is nice too. I'd highly recommend this piece.Originally Posted by greenyone
