Fan question

Sup guys,I recently bought a hayden 16'' electric fan for my 89 rs 305 and the car has been overheating I wanted to know could this problem be because I dont have a fan shroud?or do you guys think the fan is to small?

Without the shroud you’re losing suction therefore overheating can occur.

The shroud allows air to pass thru the entire radiator.

Without the shroud you have reduced the area to 16” in diameter.

A 16” fan is large enuff if it has enuff CFM.

Get a shroud, and you might want to get a RACING fan and get more CFM.

Not to hi-jack the thread, but there's a very active thirdgen
club in the DFW area. Check out NTTGA.com, and try to make
it to the next meeting in Sep. I'm sure you can get some good
advice from the gearheads you'll meet there.

oh yea thx man I used to go to the rotary meets back when I had my rx7 but now I can meet up with some people with real cars haha
