Upper radiator support
Hi guys, I recently switched from a clutch fan to my new flex-a-lite 180 electric fan in my 1982 Z28E with a 355. I cant use the old fan shroud anymore offcourse. Anyone have a shroud that only holds the radiator and not the fan. Or anyone have any ideas to fabricate a simple upper support bracket for the radiator. Want it to look nice but nothing too fancy. Thanks!

Re: Upper radiator support
You should be able to fabricate one out of aluminum fairly easily with household tools.
Otherwise, get a tpi one from an electric fan.

Re: Upper radiator support
Here's the one i built for my new radiator. You can't see it in the pic, but there's a length of 3/4" heater hose that's been filled with silicone (to make it less likely to flatten out over time) under that peice of "c" channel that hits the radiator top instead of the metal of the c channel. It works great.

that pic above is sweet, if i was needing a shroud, id hit up home depot and get some sheet metal cheap. and just fab it, then race or take hot ladies for a ride. wink

Thanks man....i have a big electric fan going behind the rad. The whole car is in the process of being built,(re-built...we've had it since 85...it's had a few encarnations..lol) so everything's getting done at once...that's why so much stuff is just laying around in the pic..LOL.

i just took the stock electric single fan support and trimmed the back with my dremel. came out great, still does the job. you can get them on ebay fairly cheap.
