Re: Confusing fan switches

I'm not sure on your car. I know stock it was screwed down. Mines just resting there. Look from the top and follow the dipstick and look for a little tang in it that's either screwed down or welded. If it welded your stuck with it in the way.

Re: Confusing fan switches

92 Camaro- are you trying to do everything from up top? Like I said before, when I did my swap, I was under the car the whole time! I know the weather sucks, but try it from underneath the car, you'll be able to look right at the hole! Alining the switch to the hole will be much easier.

This is why I like my '86. It's right on the top on the t-stat housing

Coolant temp is there too. They sit side-by-side

My '86 is carbed if it matters. Which is why this site is confusing to me at times when someone doesn't post what kind of car they have.

Has anyone thought about using the earlier t-stat housing to make life easier?

When you first start the car after its been sitting a little while the fans not on right??

On mine when the fan comes on it pretty much stays on because it never gets the temp back to 185. If im on the highway it kicks off when the temp gets lower.

Mine is a single fan set up and I agree that the guy from Hypertech is not correct. I didn't need a thread adapter btw. It was all plug and play.
