Blower Motor

Hi Guys,

I am new to the forum and need a little help. I have had an 87 IROC-Z28 with 86,000 original miles for three years now and last week when I took my baby for a ride ( In Colorado ) i turned the heater on and it made a low grind sound, then blew the fuse that runs on the right side of the engine block. I think maybe something got in the blower housing and am at a loss of how to get to the blower motor. I am new to repair on American vehicles (lol) I have a 1979 BMW and I must say, it is much easier to work on.
Any insight you guys have will be greatly appriciated.

Thanks,
Christian

Re: Blower Motor

open the hood.. look to your left on the fire wall. /AC box..

you can get to it. it's held in by 4/5/6 somthing like that.of 6mm/8mm bolts. it's not hard to take out.. sombody will post a photo.

it's plug and play with the new one.. you will also swap the fan thats on the front of it when you pull it out.(small nut & washer). easy easy..

Welcome to TGO. Check post #4 of the following link for a pic:

BTW, stuffing a towel below the housing to catch those little screws is a good thing--don't ask how I know!
