Need fan shroud on 86 iroc?

Hey guys,

I know everyones gonna rag on me but i have a bolt on flex fan for the 350 in my camaro and it runs around fine. ive finally started driving the car around and noticed when i was in the mcdonalds drive thru, the temp got up to about 220 and this is on a pretty cool day (if that even makes a difference). i dont currently have a fan shroud on it because my year had the electric fan assembly (never trusted it, it never worked all the time so im not going back to that). is there a way i can get a fan shroud for a flex fan to fit on my year body style? also ive got a 195 t-stat in it and im probly just gonna throw in a 180 just because. it has no leaks either so im just thinkin this is normal behavior.

Re: Need fan shroud on 86 iroc?

should be able to use a fan shroud from an '82-85 v8
thirdgen camaro or firebird-shrouds are different
between the two,camaro uses a 18.5"fan,F/B uses a 17"
fan. could also make a suitable shroud out of sheet
metal, fiberglass, etc. soon i an going to make up a new
fan shroud for mine to suit the northern#5026p rad.
i am finally getting around to installing-not quite a
bolt-in replacement

It should work, but also check the radiator and the AC condenser to see if there's any build up blocking the air flow. Sometimes stuff gets in between the two that you can't see.

I dont have any A/C or heater.. ive stripped it all out so the only pulleys im running are crank, power steering, alternator and water pump. none of the a/c or heater componenets were good when i bought the car.
