so the other day my radiator fan stopped coming on at all and my car started to over heat i want to fix it and i was wondering if my cars (305 carb) fan is controlled by a switch or the ecm so i know what to change

Fan-Tastik

The fan is controlled by the ECM.

Check the FAN fuse under the dash.

Next check the fan relay located in the engine compartment on the firewall, near the brake booster.

It’s the one on the left.
( Driver’s side for newbies. )

You can switch relays for testing.

You can apply 12 volts directly to the fan to see if it works.

The ECM turns on the fan about 220°.

G & H engine codes (LG4, L69), electric fan is controlled by the fan switch, 238°F on temp, passenger head.
