heater hose cause ovrheating?

my 90 runs warm to hot most of the time, I have hoses for my heater core that run from my intake to the heater core then to the radiator, no diverters or anything, so there is a constant flow. Anyone else think this could cause my coolant to run hotter han normal? 190-230 degrees.....
