not totally able to get what you want, but the stock fan switch is in the head, right side of the car (passengerside) between the rear two cylinders. Its a grounding switch, with a single wire connected to it. If you ground that wire to the block, the fan should turn on. If it doesnt, the fan or the relay is bad. You can test the fan by just hitting it with 12v. the relay is on the firewall on the driverside.

you are using an aftermarket fan?



in the later year cars, the fan works with the computer too, but its unlikely thats the issue.

 

then lies between the two rear cylinders? right ?.... no fan and no 'aftermarket .... had used a device after market PE make it start when the water inlet temperature agiungeva

ciao, non so di che anno sia la tua camaro e che motore monti ma sulla mia (1988 5,7 TPI) ci sono tre dispositivi che rilevano la temperatura del motore:

- tra il 1 e 3 cylinder (driver side) c'è la sonda per lo strumento nel cruscotto
- di fronte sotto il collettore dell'aria c'è il sensore per l'ECM
- tra il 6 e 8 cylinder (lato passenger) c'è il sensore che fa partire il secondo fan

il primo e il secondo sono facili datrovare e si vedono a occhio nudo mentre il terrzo per me è un pò più difficile, forse devi alzare l'auto x vederlo.
ti metto la numerazione dei cilindri se hai un V8

io ho fatto un override su tutte e due le ventole e le comando da dentro con due interruttori lasciando inalterato il sistema originale di fabbrica così se mi dimentico o guida qualcunaltro sono comunque sicuro che, anche se ad alte temperature, le ventole partano ugualmente.

ciao!....guarda la mi e' 305 tbi...(5000 TBI)....il problema e' che con lo spinotto dell' impianto elettrico di serie non ha mai funzionato....quindi gli ho fatto io un interruttore x accenderla...ma volevo rimetterla originale....quindi che partiva da sola con i sensori della macchina...cmq. grazie x la spiegazione ora vedro' di controllare....(si scrivere in italiano su questo forum e' una storia!)....a quindi vuoi dire che ce una seconda ventola?!....io intendo il ventolone del radiatore....ma quella che dici seondo fan quale e'!?

 

io sul radiatore ho di fabbrica 2 ventole affiancate, una comandata dall'ECM e l'altra comandata dal sensore nel lato passeggero e dall' a/c.
sono cose che dipendono dall'anno.

in teoria se metti a massa il cavo che va al sensore tra il 6 e 8 cylinder (lato passeggero) la ventola dovrebbe partire (con il quadro acceso) così puoi capire se è rotto il sensore o se è un problema lungo la linea del cablaggio.
