Heater Hose Run Question
Hi Folks
I have a 83' with a stock heater core but none of the hoses are attached so the question is which line should run from the heater core to the water pump, the small connector on the left or the big one on the right of the core?

Re: Heater Hose Run Question
Both the core lines and nipples from the engine or radiator to the core
are different sizes.
So deciding which goes to which is easy to figure out.
Sorry I can't tell you the sizes or exact location/routing off-hand as it pouring
outside at the moment.

Re: Heater Hose Run Question
I look forward to your reply, my rig is pretty much a Camarostein, all I'm looking for is which side of the heatercore should route to the waterpump, the other line feeds into the top of the engine.

Re: Heater Hose Run Question
Mines a little different hose routing, but I think all cores are the same. On mine the smaller one (on the left looking at the engine from in front of it) is where the heated water from the engine goes in the core and the larger one (slightly lower and on the right side) is where water is returned to my radiator. The heated water comes out of the intake on the rear near the EGR valve and the distributor. Not sure how yours compares, but hope this helps some.

Re: Heater Hose Run Question
On my 84 5.0 ho the 5/8 hose goes from the pass/rt heater core nipple to the connector on the intake manifold.
The 3/4 hose runs from the left/driver heater core nipple to the connector on
the water pump.
I will also note I have a/c and do not have the water valve in the heater hose
lines that some models/years with a/c have. Car is 100% stock.
