Hi, getting a replacement airdam in europe is near to impossible or almost as expensive as getting a parts car to part out and hope an airdam is included. (last offer I got for stock replacement was in the $200 area)

I decided to build a new airdam with stuff I picked up at a DIY.
It is 4" tall making it 1" higher from the ground then a stock airdam would be.

I have seen some people made airdams out of steel. What dimensions did you use and did it work to the same results as the stock airdam?

Any feedback would be appreciated.
I had some serious overheating issues recently. No wonder actually as I´ve been driving around without airdam (and without knowing one was required untill recently). I hope these overheating issues will be sorted now as I´m quickly running out of ideas.

Have you tried Modern Day Muscle for a price? Others have said anything too solid won't give or flex if scraping or hitting something and could do more damage, but with care I'm sure that's a lot better than nothing.

This will hardly be too solid. It´s 3mm thin high density foam. I sure hope it lasts highway speeds but anything up to 40 mph did not prove to be a problem.

Since it´s foam it´ll flex up to 10° then snap before causing damage to even the profile holding the part. This cost me $15 when counting all materials including the hex screws.

I´ll have a look to see what modern day muscle takes for shipping to germany.

The front was never treated against corrosion. Apart from the front the car was treated and looks considerably better.

I´m tackling that this summer. Did not manage to do anything last year but this year I start redoing the corrosion protection as well as replace most of the suspension parts.

Europe isn´t kind to cars. This is what all untreated cars look like after 20 odd years of use.
