how do you check this type of fuse? I thought it was a plastic cover over a glass cylinder type fuse but I don't see how it opens.

It doesn't open. You either have continuity from one end to the other or you don't. If not it's no good

Hi guys!
There is a problem with my 91 Trans AM, about several months can't resolve it.
So I have TPI on my 305ci LB9 engine with two fans, but 2nd doesn't starts.
When temperature rize up to 240F/115C, only 1-st fan (black/red wire) starting.
Also it's starts when I connect with paper clip A+B ports at diagnostic can.
2nd fan I can start only when I connect pigtail connector to ground or shortcut relay (black/pink wire).
all parts are new, caps, sender, sensor, switch, thermostat, rediator, waterpump and hoses.
what did I miss?
gauge STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS TS76
switch ACDELCO D1852B
sensor STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS TX3
thermo STANT 13356

when you are under the car find the dip stick on the passenger side. the temp sensor os up and to the rear of where the dip stick mounts. should have a plug with a single wire on it.

I've heard 85-86 was weird and didn't have one. Is there a plug between #6 and #8 cylinders?

There's no plug between #6 and #8 just one between #1 and #3
No. Don't argue, LOOK, and believe. Because it's TRUE.
There's no wire there I look just one on the drivers side between 1 and 3
Why are you arguing this thing? What are you trying to do? If you'll stop arguing stuff that isn't true, and ASK NICELY what goes where or what to do or whatever, maybe we can help.

Re: Cooling Fan Won't Turn On...
Maybe its covered in crud and can;t be seen? I think its an inverted hex plug or something..... Some engines are ridiculously dirty and caked in crud....spray the area with brake cleaner or take a towel and wipe the area. Youd see a fan switch if you had one though.... if it fell lout, your coolant would pour out and your motor would be toast!
I recall hearing 85 - 86 used a ecm fan control and no fan switch for electric fans...so youd have no fan switch....but like Sofa said there are holes / plugs there regardless.
