Changing fan temp

I have a 84 Z28 305 enigine (carbed) the fan turns on at 235 degrees I think that is way to long before the fan turns on so is there a way to turn the fan on at 220 or at any other temp with out haveing to manually turn on the fan?

(235 degrees is when the fan should turn on. factory for 84 Z28 camaros)

Re: Changing fan temp

Yes, replace the fan switch with one that turns on sooner, at a lower temp. and replace your thermostat . You can get a fan switch from Summit or Jegs that turns on the fan at 200 or 180-185. Try part # EMP-301 thermostat, it has 3 3/16 bypass holes in it to eliminate steam pockets. You can also add a switch to turn your fan on when you want. Check out Willie`s total fan control in tech forums.
