Where to purchase the best stock set-up radiator
I read the sticky on the 3 row, and it sounded great. Only I need one now and it is out of stock. Any other solutions, or should I just get the standard plastic one from the local parts store?
I ordered online before and received a damaged one. They replaced it, but it wasn't much better. Had to take it in and get it repaired myself, negating any savings. It is all metal and still did not last as long as the original.
I may get a warranty replacement, but doubtful based on the past customer service.
I would like the best cooling possible, have easy installation, and spend under $300.

Re: Where to purchase the best stock set-up radiator
I just finished building my 87 Iroc, (literally 4 days ago), and 4 years in the making. I have around 37K invested in the build (no short cuts) and did A TON of reserch I found the best aluminum radiator for the money is Summit's Direct replacement - part# SUM-380455 it's $289 has the trans cooler built in and is about 3" thick! I had no prob putting it in, No aftermarket mods slipped in Nice. Hope this helps!

Unless you have a ridiculous motor one from autozone will do just fine. I run one and have no temperature problems.

Re: Where to purchase the best stock set-up radiator
I see you are in Texas, and I know it's hot there. But it's been 95+ here for over 2 weeks now, and I've been daily driving mine with 4+ year old stock radiator replacement from local radiator shop, and have no issues at all. I run 210 hottest and that's only stopped at a long redlight, normal city driving and highway driving and gettin on it driving I never see over 190. I have a Flexalite aftermarket fan controller set to come on at 185 and off at 170, and running a 180 stat. I have stock single fan, but I did shroud it with aluminum sheeting.

I disagree that the summit rad is a good buy, it's not. It doesn't fit, needs a bunch of fabrication for the shroud and to get the fans on correctly (that is, if you are not wanting to run a hacked setup) Bottom line is, the "direct fit" does not fit at all. The best I have seen is the Be cool radiator. 10000x nicer than the summit one, a bigger price tag but worth it IMO. I should have gotten one of those also.
