AC air intake?
Where does the A/C take in the air from? I was wondering today because I know on new cars they have the option to recirculate the air. thanks

Re: AC air intake?
All interior air--whether heated or cooled--comes into the airbox from the cowl vents on the top of the firewall in front of the windshield. If you have AC, the Max-AC setting should open an interior door which will draw a percentage of the total air being moved thru the box from the interior down under the passenger side dash. This boosts the AC efficiency because you are recirculating air that's already cooled and dehumidified.

I've been told that when on MAX, it recirculates. Not 100% sure though. The a/c takes air in from infront of the windshield.

Re: AC air intake?
Ok thanks guys! I always wondered what the difference between A/C and MAX A/C was. I thought it was a pretty inefficient system if it grabbed all exterior air. What got me thinking of this was because I was on the freeway today it was 108 outside and I had it on the normal A/C, and it got pretty damn cold so I was wondering where it grabbed the air from. My system was filled up with R12 last year so it works damn good.

Our ac system seems to be pretty good for how old they are, I plan on overhauling mine to get it to blow a little harder and colder. 2-45 ac doesn't work as great in Florida summers.
