AC compressor ready to go

When the clutch is engaged, everything rattles and shakes pretty good. The belt is wobbling real good. I assume the bearings are going in the compressor? I disconnected the electrical connector so it doesnt run while in defrost. i dont want it to throw the belt.

Next Q, my local junkyard got a 91Z in all wrecked, will the AC compressor from that fit my '88?

No. Anyway you would just be installing an unknown, which might not work so you’ll be wasting your time.

If you’re on a budget you can get a rebuilt for only $134.

You mean 'NO' to the '91 compressor fitting my 1988?

A new AC compressor for my car is $184 at A. Auto.

There should be a difference however I never compared them side by side.

If you’re on a budget, and the JY will give you a money back guarantee if it doesn’t fit, you’ll have nothing to lose but time.

You can get a rebuilt for only $134, or that new one you found for $184.

Good luck and be Kooooool.

Re: AC compressor ready to go

Actually no, the '91 model will not fit. I looked up on A. Auto site, and they list a different p/n, and higher price. I can prolly deal with the rebuilt $134 compressor. And you are right, no guarrantee with my local junkyard. I figured that I wasnt gonna pay more than 50$.
I just need to get my system checked out soon, but couldnt get to it this week. Then see if the compressor needs to be replaced. I have tried the AC recently, and it sort of works, but could be better.
