Hose identification requested please.
Hose identification requested please.
There are 3 pics & 1 video below to help you guys help me identify the hose I'm looking for. Today the top hose (there are 2 hoses with the bottom one being the heater hose and the top hose curving downward towards another hose that travels down to the block of the engine) came off all of a sudden and it's corroded. The date on the hose is 11-02-1987, so I'm guessing it's the factory hose.
The 1st 2 pictures are of the hoses hooked up still but now the top one is off in the 3rd pic as you can see it curves.
I've gotta buy a new hose until I'm done identifying all of the a.c./heating parts that I'm going to yank out of my car.
Thank you.

Re: Hose identification requested please.
I'm also uploading a video with live time feed. So hopefully that'll help too.
Here's the video now.

Just replace the hoses - any chunk of heater hose will work as long as it's the right inside diameter size - none of those are bent so tightly that you can't just use a straight piece and allow it to bend on it's own - just make sure you don't cut it so short that it will kink. Or you can look at any parts store and buy any chunk of prebent hose that is the right ID - rather than having to track down exactly what the particular name of THAT hose is.
That plastic thing is the heater diverter valve - you can even eliminate it totally - just reroute the hosing to exclude it. You'll have to cap off that vacuum line as well. The diverter valve just opens when the slide is set to warm, allowing warm coolant into the heater core. When set to cool, it closes and keeps the coolant from entering the heater core.

Does that make sense to you? I've been reading a few threads tonight about the coolant bypass mod, the removal of hoses & re-routing of hoses to free up room and to reduce weight. What do you think I can do with my set-up?
