84 camaro H.O. Heater hose

My little brother just picked up an 84 Camaro z28 H.O., the people he bought it from had not driven it in awhile and the other day 2 holes formed in the heater hoses. I have no ideal how to take these off. Can any one help me out?

not heater hoses.. they are ac hoses. the silver thing is the reciever/dryer. it would explain why the ac won't work with holes in those hoses. the refrigerant and oil prolly leaked out over time. the holes didn't help the situation. see if u can find a new set before u take the old ones off. moisture in an a/c system just reaks havoc on it. causes internal rusting which can clog stuff. should be just a few bolts holding every thing together. when removing the hose from above the radiatior. remove one at a time so u don't completely loosen the radiator .

If there's any charge left in the system, removal could prove dangerous.

Well all pressure has been released from the tubes. How important are these? My borther just wants to be able to drive it again, right when this happened his lower radiator hose basically tore apart from dry rot.

you can drive around with those on if they're rotted or anything, you just wont have A/C

If you brother decides he doesn't want to keep the ac system, I might be interested in taking it off his hands.

Since it's been sitting and at least some of the hoses are worthless, now would be a good time to replace all of the radiator and heater hoses that aren't in great shape before he gets stranded somewhere. Also might want to try and flush out the radiator and see if it's still worth using and not rusted out too bad, and renew coolant mixture. Have fun!

yeah just ended up replacing lower radiator hose, and thermostat. He's gonna remove the ac since he says he wont use it and doesn't see a point to replacing the tubes. He spent all his money on this, its an 84 HO with 60k original miles and 0 rust or body damage car was owned by a 70 year old couple who kept it garaged and only drove it on the weekends during summer. Radiator was good, I flushed it out for him.
