Jow much of a difference does a fan shroud make on a radiator

Jow much of a difference does a fan shroud make on a radiator

I was looking at these two radiators specifically and was wondering how much of a difference the one with a shroud makes cooling wise? Is it worth the extra $120?

links don't work but a shrouded setup allows the fan to pull air through that part of the core than is spanned by the shroud. With a fan up against the core it only pulls from the surface spanned by the fan

In that set up I wouldn't bother with the shroud. If you are looking for better cooling, get the fans and shroud off of a 98-02 firebird or camaro. I just installed them on my 92 camaro and they will keep me at temp all day long in the Arizona summer. All of my overheating problems are over. The fans plug right in with your original harness. I have just the original radiator too. Pm me if you want info and pics on the install.
