Re: Main Seal

Id say yeah. I know in my 88 GTA if the oil is low...the temp goes up. I have a leaky rear main and I know when its time to add more oil because my temp runs hot. Does it run hot when the oil level is good? If not....the problem might be in the cooling system.

Re: Main Seal

Check and fill the oil level as needed and then see if it runs hot.....If it dont run hot....your oil level isnt the cause of the elevated temp. If it runs hot and the oil level is good.....Its most likely a cooling related problem. Low oil CAN make an engine run hotter then normal. So can low trans fliud.... this is a fact.

High, low, hot, cold, whatever... it's not going to make the RMS leak.
