What was this?

Hey all.

I have a 91 Firebird that I bought with a bad engine. I've recently acquired a 92 305 out of a Camaro. It's complete, but I saw this sensor coming out of the passenger side head. It's obviously broken, but I don't know what it's supposed to do or even what it's called.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Re: What was this?

Was this on the front of the engine by the water pump could be the CTS, if it was on the passenger side above headers would be the temp gauge for the for the fan to come on. The low temperature fan switch I think it's called.

It was located between cylinders 6 and 8, just below where the headers bolt onto the head. I have a plug there for right now (the car isn't going anywhere... trust me).

So it's called a fan switch. Ok. I'll be ordering one then.

Thanks for the replies!
