Thought I would let everyone know that I found another additive that actually seems to work?? Hy- Per lube coolant. I purchased this item at Pep Boys because it only cost $6.00 and figgered what the hell?

It is supposed to reduce the temp by as much as 30 degrees and you just add it directly in the rad and works with all coolants and cars.

I've only driven around town so far but it seems to have made a difference.
I'm taking it for a long haul today and I'll see if it keeps my temp down{ temporary fix until I can replace the radiator }

I'm in Southern Az and it will exceed 100 today , so if it works for me, it'll work for you!!

I'll post again after I know for sure?

Ok, ran it hard yesterday and it didn't overheat? it was prior to putting in this additive. According to the instructions you can lose up to thirty degrees if you use only water with with it???

Don't quite know why but that's what they claim!

My temp gauge died so i can't give you a accurate temp, but it started going up to 260 and I thought it was boiling over but when I popped the hood it was fine! For $6 bucks its worth trying it.

If anyone tries it get back to me with results please.

Might go out and buy that on Friday,It's odd they claim you can reduce coolant temp by as much as 30 degrees using water only, water will corrode the cooling system and plug it up, i was running straight water on one of my cars for a few months while it was summer and man it made everything brownish, now to flush it out its not that easy. i wouldn't run water anywhere on earth no matter what some people claim or say. anti-freeze has a an additive to lubricate the water pump and it prevents galvanized corrosion! I'll see if i can find the stuff you used, since it's summer almost i want to try that stuff out,cheap at 6 bucks.

I agree on not using water, but if you are in the same position as I and the rad is finished anyways// Who cares!!
On another point I tried the Prestone rad flush and I find it did FA, but a gallon of Vinager and water actually cleaned more crap out of the System!!

Kind of irrelevant at this point since my Rad just blew apart today!

getting a new one for $135.00 Sigh W.T.F

Yeh but dont make the problem worse than it is lol..I just bought my rad for 110 bucks, at the following place, if you havent purchased one yet call them up and tell them your buddy (geo) just bought one for $110 bucks last week, car kept overheating,changed the thermostat to a 180 degree the car runs way cooler now but it only overheated with the a/c on and when iam in city traffic, i found out my a/c compressor is not cycling on and off so it runs constant, i think that might be the problem, tomorrow i get my compressor in ,x sing fingers!
