Question for a friends 86 Z28
Ok so I have a friend that owns my Z28's twin lol... ok back to topic he just got his Z back from the shop and the mechanic claims that he may have a Blown Head Gasket and he started looking into these head gasket repair stuff that you put into the radiator and it is supposed to seal blown gaskets or cracked blocks and he is asking if anyone on here has ever used anything like it in their 3rd gens because a head gasket repair/replacement could be anywhere from 1800 to 3000 grand here in VA so anyone think he should try it???

Re: Question for a friends 86 Z28
I wouldn't use that crap - That junk is for crack addicts trying to get another 500 miles out of their 1973 Pinto so they can buy another 8 ball this week!
Heads are easily removed form the engine with the engine in the car, and head gaskets are cheap. I'd yank my own heads off, buy new gaskets and head bolts (maybe $100), take my heads to a machine shop for a 3-angle valve job and new valve stem seals, and put them back on, having spent 2 saturday afternoons and under $500 easy.
