Coolant leak

Stopped at 7 eleven on my way home from work. Only a mile away. I saw steam coming from under the hood when I got out of the car. It looked like maybe the hose that comes out of the water pump and goes into the firewall was trickling. I have a flush tee spliced into it and I think the one end was where it was leaking. Everything was wet though so hard to tell. When It cools off im going to take it off and retighten everything to see if it stops. This has happened one other time last week at another 7-11 about a mile away from my other job. Maybe I should just avoid 7-11s. The rad cap was cold but hoses all had pressure. Car wasn't overheating though. I loosened the cap untill the pressure was relieved and fluid came out and the tightened it back up. That seemed to resolve the problem both times. What might cause this? Air in the system?
