making heat blow hot in winter
My 84 camaro has a 383 in it with an aluminum radiator. During winter time when i turn the heat on it want get real warm. It has a 160 stat in it, when im sitting still its kinda warm but once driving it seems cool. Do i need to put a bigger stat in it during winter or is there something else i can do?

Flushing the heater core can also help a lot.
What is the engine temperature usually running at?

The engine normally runs between 180-190, so would a 180 or 195 stat be good?

I drive year round. 180° stat is plenty good for winter.
If you had Minnesota type winters, then I would recommend the 195° stat. But for just near/at freezing temps, the 180 will do the trick.
