Crossfire Coolant Sensor Help Needed
I'm switching my 82 T/A from crossfire to carb. Any idea where I can relocate the coolant sensor, seen below in the red circle? The carb'd manifold doesn't have a place for it. Also, the plastic casing is very brittle....can I upgrade to a new setup? I think my 84 only has one wire for the coolant sensor...this one has 2.

Thanks,
Joe

That sensor is for the ECM, kind of worthless to a carb (unless you're keeping the ECM with a carb for a hybrid for some odd reason).
The sender for the gauge is on the drivers side between exhaust cyls 1 & 3 for all v8s.

Re: Crossfire Coolant Sensor Help Needed
I'm a bit curious how do they not fit ?
From anything I've seen, the LU5 (I think) t-stat housing is pretty much the LG4 housing w/o the sensor and vacuum bosses drilled/tapped. Aside from that, neither looked drastically different from just a plain-jane sbc t-tstat housing.
If your heart is set on absolutely having a stock piece, there's one for sale on that one auction site.
