fan shroud for flex fan

I have an 86 Iroc z camaro. Someone else has stuck in a carb 350 with centerbolt heads. The original electric fan was not working, so I bought an 18" flex fan. I like it, but I was wanting to buy a fan shroud for it. Does anyone know if the trans-dapt 9454 fan shroud from summit racing will work? It says it's universal and will work with fans up to 20 inch. Will I still be able to close my hood? Thanks.

Re: fan shroud for flex fan

i'd try to find a stock '82-85 camaro shroud-that
aftermarket"universal"shroud might not work well with
the leaned back f-body radiator.
Strangly,i've noticed some non-AC early thirdgens with
belt drive fan that did not have a full shroud, but some
non-AC do have a full shroud.
I saw a non-AC '83 CFI z28 that only had a
"finger guard" partial fan shroud, did not notice what fan
type was used-might have only had an "old skool"1950s
style rigid steel 4 blade fan
