Will stock wiring and relay support this fan?

I bought a champion radiator ( 3 row) with dual 12" fans ( champion / chinnese) and the shroud. I am happy with the radiator but I don't think the fans are truley pulling 1400 cfm. the car is not overheating but getting up to 220 ( when it's hot) with a 180* stat I was looking at these fans to replace the champion fans and hopeflly cool it down to around 200*.

Spal PART NO: 30102038
Total Amp draw 20A

I wanted to know if my stock wiring for my single fan will be able to handle one of these fans. I will have the second fan hooked up to a seperate painlesss system which can handle up to 30amps.

I'm not sure what guage the factory fan wiring is but 12 guage copper is good for up to 20 amps, so if it is at least that size your ok. otherwise the wire will get too hot and probably burn out.

That information especially the chart is very helpful and I bookmarked it for future use. does anyone know what the gauge of stock wire is?

I searched and found this post. Based on this information I Would think our stock fan draws more than 20 amps but i want to be sure.

Re: Will stock wiring and relay support this fan?

A trick I use is to look at the wire size on the electrical part you are using and if your not running 20 feet of wire you can use that size or a little bigger and it should be fine. I have a 16 inch fan 3200 cfm and the factory wiring held it fine. I don't know the amp draw but the wire size on the fan is one size smaller and does not get warm. I have an amprobe but my buddy will not return it so I can't measure it. I have to do it the country boy way and run it for a while and see how warm it gets. Not a good practice I admit but what can you do?
