Could this cause overheating?
Put a new hose on this today because the old one was rotted and had holes all in it. The car overheated when I first got it so I replaced the thermostat, new coolant, and did an oil change and it has been fine for the last couple weeks. Now I replaced this hose and it overheats? It was around 230 degrees and there is a 190 thermo in it.The new hose is the one my fingers are on

Looks like thats a evap hose going to an evap solinoid. Others might know since I dont have that particular set-up.

Its the EVAP canister purge valve. The hose I put goes from this to the carb. I think I have a bigger problem because after 30 minutes I was finally able to get the car to turn over and it was about to stall if I didn't have the RPM's above 2000. Lots of smoke out the tail pipes and when I parked the car and shut it off the smoke continued to flow out
