Check it out. It says fog light delete. Looks like there are intake scoops where the fog lights would have been. Is this a kit or a factory option?

Factory. My 85 IROC has them. As I recall, they simply direct air to the radiator.

EDIT: More specifically, DUCT, Rad Air--RH/LH.

Re: Is this factory?

FACTORY 1LE car. AC Delete, fog lights delete, aluminum driveshaft, upgraded rear end, upgraded exhaust, upgraded oil cooler and bigger front brakes. It says 1LE in the RPO codes, so yes - factory "race car".
All IROCs with TPI use those ducts for cold air intake to the MAF. You usually just can't see it because of fog lights. These are more visible and the fog light delete option was to keep the car cooler by allowing more air intake.

Re: Is this factory?

I have them on my carbed 85. If you take the filler piece off, you'll see that the part is a kind of elbow that directs air upward to the radiator and nothing more (though the TPI cars may have benefited some). They were apparently available well before the introduction of the 1LE.

I like that better. I may remove mine before the power tour this year. Anything to help the car out. It is going to get some miles put on it.
