Radiator has extra port?

Car: 86 T/A GTA Rims
Engine: 350 Mild cam 750 holly
Transmission: Beefed 700R4
Axle/Gears: 2.73
Radiator has extra port?
My old radiator was cracked and i got an 88 T/A radiator and it has another port for a hose and it leaks when its half way full, its between the trans cooling lines and it must have been an extra for the 87 and up models. Does anyone know what it is for and if i can just block it?
