Heater hose to -X AN hose
It's about time to replace my heater hoses! I've been thinking for a while about changing my heater hoses out to to an AN system. It would look much cleaner and a little easier to work with. I've been searching and found that the heater hoses are a 5/8 and 3/4 so I believe I will need -10 and -12 AN lines and fittings. Does this sound correct and has anybody done this? Just wondering before I spend the cash and have some odd problem or order the wrong pieces.

Those sizes would be right. If you're only interested in the appearance, just get some sleeving and some decorative hose clamps. It'd be a lot cheaper and easier to work with.

I agree with you on the price, and I already have a complete hose sleeve kit, uninstalled. Appearance will be half of the reason, Preference is the other. With the AN I can utilize 45 and 90* bends without worrying about kinks.

Those would be some seriously expensive bends. I'd just put an anti-collapse spring around it wherever I wanted it to bend.

Re: Heater hose to -X AN hose
I went ahead and priced it, I can get the AN 45* bends and 1/2 NPT to -10/12 AN off of ebay for 10 and 5 respectively, The braided line I can get from Summit, 3 feet for 20-24. Not as bad as I thought it might be. I have some other projects still to finish (like finishing MegaSquirt) but I'll post pics in a month or two when its on.

Re: Heater hose to -X AN hose
one line is 5/8od the other is 3/4 od. I did this conversion
I don't have ac, with ac it may be different, but I used 2 90 dregee adapters both to 1/2 female npt.and soldered them on at about a 45 degre angle.to.the passengerside, they both kinda straddle the threaded ground post on the corner of the heater box coming off the firewall. From there, plumb as needed with 10an line, don't bother with 12an, not needed.
Fittings off these adapters are 45 degree, fits perfectly with a heater only box. I have posted pics of this before
