Coolant temp switch

I have done some searching, and haven't be able to find. What driveablility issues happen if this sensor is not working. I didn't change the sensor before the engine swap, Due to thinking it was the AC fan switch. And just to clarify what I am assuming is the CTS is in the water neck / thermostat housing. The check engine light isn't coming on, Would it? What issues will I see if this isn't working?
Thanks John

Re: Coolant temp switch

That one gives the computer info on whether the engine is warmed up or not. I would imagine if it isn't working your computer would think the engine is cold all the time so your gas mileage would go down a bit.

Sounds feasable, I sure hope it helps. The last check it was getting 10.8mpg. I have changed the O2 and the CTS.
Thanks
