new member. fan problem

Hello.I'm having problems with my cooling fan.I got my 85 iroc z 305 tpi about 2months ago and it worked fine then.it would come on the instant I turned the key on.now it doesn't even come on when the car is on.I recently replaced the fan relay located in fire wall next to the radiator and noticed the plug was full of sludge or as if something melted in there.could this be the issue because I tried jump starting the fan motor and it does come on.also noticed there is another relay located by the drivers side wall is this one related to the fan?by the way its a single fan set up.any help will be appreciated.thanks!!

Re: new member. fan problem

Without good clean connections, electrical stuff doesn't work well. Might find a better pigtail for the relay at the JY. Relay next to the fan relay is the fuel pump relay. Looks the same but has five wires going to it instead of four on the fan relay
Check out this article from the technical articles section. Lots of handy stuff in there.
