EGR and overheating
Does anyone know if a bad EGR valve causes freekish heating issues? I have been having some wierd heating reading on my gauge and prettymuch replaced my entire cooling system to include a new temp gauge sensor. I seen SES light pop on and it read code 32 so I swaped my EGR valve out and it seemed to fix the issue.

Re: EGR and overheating
Did you notice any "pinging"under low rpm/moderate load conditions?faulty
EGR can cause pinging that will increase coolant temp.

Re: EGR and overheating
Im not sure what you mean by "pinging" but after the new EGR the performace of the car seemed night and day... I had no idea how important the EGR valve is. I took the car out 2-3 more times after to check the hotter than usual cooling issue and it seems perfect... I think if I still ran my stock fan switch and stat with this issue I would have blown an engine before I figured out problem was a EGR valve.
-Actually I do remember I did sort of notice a odd pinging noise once in a while at lower rpm
